MCIC Project Site Reveal: A Transformational Milestone for STATHS

Kingston, Jamaica – February 26, 2025 – Excitement is building as STATHS 78 & Friends, Inc., in collaboration with St. Andrew Technical High School (STATHS), proudly announces the MCIC Project Site Reveal, scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 1:15 PM on the school campus. This highly anticipated event marks a significant step forward in the development of the Medical, Counseling, and Intervention Center (MCIC)—Jamaica’s first modern high school wellness facility.

A Vision of Wellness & Transformation

The MCIC Project is a groundbreaking initiative designed to provide critical medical care, mental health support, and life-saving training to over 1,600 students, faculty, and the surrounding community. More than just a building, the MCIC will redefine student wellness in Jamaica, serving as a model for educational institutions nationwide.

This event will offer an exclusive first look at the project site, sharing key details about the facility’s design, impact, and the Donor Recognition Program, which will play a crucial role in bringing this vision to life.

Distinguished Attendees & Key Partners

The MCIC Project Site Reveal will be attended by:

  • Major Media Outlets in Jamaica covering this transformational milestone.

  • Representatives from STATHS & the School Board, sharing insights on how this project aligns with the school's commitment to student success.

  • Officials from the Ministry of Labour & Education, emphasizing the government's support for student wellness initiatives.

  • The Jamaica Red Cross, which will be partnering with STATHS to facilitate CPR, first aid, and emergency response training within the MCIC.

  • STATHS Alumni Groups, whose dedication and contributions continue to fuel this ambitious project.

Building Momentum for the Donor Recognition Program

At the heart of this event is the Donor Recognition Program, a dynamic initiative designed to honor individuals, corporations, and organizations that step forward to support the MCIC. This isn’t just about placing names on a wall—it’s about making a lasting statement of commitment to student wellness and community empowerment.

To engage and inspire STATHS students, the program includes a student-led donor wall design competition, ensuring that the recognition structure is not only meaningful but also resonates with the aspirations of those it serves.
