Leading by Example

“Between meetings, deadlines, and travel, finding time to get my 5K done was no easy task — but commitment matters. I hopped on the treadmill here in Georgia and stayed the course, step by step, thinking about what this effort truly means for the students at St. Andrew Technical High School and the future Medical, Counseling, and Intervention Center. Together, we walked miles apart but shared one mission — to be heroes for the next generation of STATHS students.” 'Claude B.'

Miles of Gratitude

“Even though I’ve been a bit under the weather, I’m incredibly thankful for my teammates who stepped up and donated their extra miles while I recover. It’s moments like this that remind me what community really means — we walk not just for ourselves, but for each other, and for the students at St. Andrew Technical High School who inspire us to keep going.”

5 STEPS LATER

Top Fundraiser   “My wife Myra and I chose the scenic Erie Canal here in Rochester, New York for our walk. It was the perfect spot to reflect, laugh, and move for a good cause. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us — together, we raised $2,355 to help students at STATHS. My motto is simple: ‘Help those who cannot help themselves now. You can make a difference.’

Myra says she’ll never forget when I decided to lay flat on the ground after finishing, acting like I’d walked my feet off and calling for the medic. She couldn’t stop laughing — I told her it was all part of the experience!”

Steps of Gratitude

“The Better Cuff Team took to the quiet park trails right here in North Hanover, New Jersey — the same place where I walk every morning at 5:30 AM to greet the sunrise. The deer, rabbits, squirrels, and other little critters joined me in spirit as I walked with purpose and gratitude. It’s in those peaceful moments that I’m reminded of one simple truth: ‘When you walk with intention, every step becomes a prayer.’ Each mile that I completed carried hope for the students at St. Andrew Technical High School and the MCIC project.”

Miles of Love & Legacy

“Our family showed up before sunrise on Jones Beach in Long Island — my son, my mother, and my wife all walking beside me. We turned our steps into something bigger, combining our efforts for both Breast Cancer Awareness and the STATHS MCIC ‘Be A Hero’ walk. The morning was dark and cool, but the energy was pure joy. We laughed, celebrated life, and felt proud knowing our miles carried meaning — for family, for health, and for the students back home in Jamaica.”

Leading Through the Night

“As President of the STATHS Canada Chapter, I wanted to set the example and complete my 5K no matter what the day looked like. So, I laced up and walked solo through my hometown under the night sky — quiet, determined, and focused on the cause. I finished my walk at 8:07 PM, just before the rain began, covering a total of 7.68 kilometers. It was a reminder that leadership isn’t just about direction — it’s about showing up and seeing it through for our students and the MCIC project.”

Steps of Gratitude

“Our team hit the trails in Englewood, New Jersey from 9:15 to 10:55 AM — a beautiful stretch of nature that reminded us how good it feels to move with purpose. I’m so thankful for everyone who supported our efforts to raise awareness and lend a hand to the students at St. Andrew Technical High School and the MCIC project. Every step, every breath, every bit of laughter along the way reminded us that small actions — taken together — can create a big impact.”

Running Beyond Limits

“After a full day of work, I decided to lace up and hit the road for my 5K — no excuses! I wanted to show that when it comes to supporting a cause this meaningful, there’s always time to make a difference. Representing the STATHS Canada Chapter, I ran with pride, determination, and a smile, knowing every stride helps bring the MCIC project one step closer to reality.”

Miles Without Borders

“Between travel stops and busy days, I still found time to complete my walk — a reminder that no matter where life takes us, STATHS is never far from our hearts. As President representing the STATHS Jamaica Chapter, I walked proudly knowing that this effort connects us all, no matter the distance. Whether we’re at home or across the globe, we share one mission: to uplift our students and ensure the success of the MCIC project.”

Pedaling with Purpose
“Our Team Canada crew showed up ready to move — and with the highest number of participants, we made it count! For me, it was all about energy and purpose — walk, run, or roll, everyone found their own way to contribute. I hopped on my indoor bike and pushed through 7.02 miles for this worthy cause, all in support of the students at STATHS and the MCIC project. It felt amazing to ride for something bigger than myself, and the team’s energy kept me going from start to finish!”

Determined to Make a Difference
“As members of the STATHS Canada Chapter, my wife and I were determined to do our part to support this noble cause. Nothing was going to stop us — not the weather, not our schedules, and certainly not distance. Every step we took reminded us why we walk: to stand with our STATHS family and to help bring the MCIC vision to life for the students back home in Jamaica.”
